There is something about this delicious brew that is so heady, comforting, and delicious at any time of day. I was a late coffee convert, in college, when I found myself completely enamored with a man who worked in a coffee shop on the square called Bochy's.
I started with espresso drinks. Because I didn't know what I liked, we started playing this game where I would explain how I was feeling and how my day had gone and he would brew me the perfect drink to match my mood-- sort of like the movie Chocolat. I remember the culmination of my coffee experiments which was not, when I married my coffee guy, Brian, and gave up coffee for good, but when he made me the most delicious, soul-searchingly good latte I've ever had in my life.
It had been a hard day and a rainy, sleepy day when I stumbled into his second coffee shop, Uncommon Ground. By this time I was his serious girlfriend and not just the girl who shadowed his footsteps just to see more of him. He understood perfectly the sort of day I was having and how I was feeling so he made me a cinnamon toast latte. I still don't know exactly how it all came together, but I know he steamed cinnamon into the milk. And it was so completely perfect.
Anyway, this morning I was going to pass along the coffee making find (Brian's find, but he doesn't have a blog) that makes our coffee brewing lives so much easier.
This is the AeroPress by Aerobie and I highly recommend it for the serious coffee lover. Smoother, faster coffee cannot be found in a more simple home method, in my opinion. I made a cup of coffee this morning and it took me less than one minute, and of course it was delicious. The delicious part depends mostly on Brian's freshly roasted coffee, but the ease is all AeroPress.
